Part of the Singlife Marathon Majors Series
This race offers four distances -- 5K, 10K, 21.1K and the 42.195K full marathon -- at SM City CDO Uptown, organised by RUNRIO Inc. [1] It joins the Singlife Davao Marathon covered elsewhere in this research batch as another leg of the same Singlife Philippine Marathon Majors series, jointly run with Kinetix Sports and SM Supermalls.
A City With Proven Race Capacity
Cagayan de Oro has demonstrated genuine capacity for large-field races -- in 2024, the city hosted the MILO Marathon's National Finals for the first time ever in Mindanao, drawing over 12,600 participants, covered elsewhere in this research batch. [1] That track record gives real confidence in CDO's ability to handle another major marathon-distance event.
A Modern Mall-Anchored Venue
SM City CDO Uptown is a newer, modern mall development also used by the Sante Barley Trilogy Run Asia's CDO Leg 3 covered elsewhere in this research, giving the race village built-in parking, shelter and amenities. [2] That repeat use suggests a genuinely tested venue for the city's growing race calendar.
Registration Already Open
Unlike several other RunRio-organised races in this research batch still awaiting registration confirmation, the Singlife Cagayan de Oro Marathon is already open for sign-up. [1] That's a meaningful advantage for runners wanting to plan travel now rather than wait.
Should You Run It?
If you want to run a Marathon Majors-series race in a Mindanao city with genuinely proven capacity for large events, the Singlife Cagayan de Oro Marathon on 13 December 2026 is a strong, low-risk pick.
