The Course: Flat, Wide and Cleared of Traffic
Indomaret Run is new: the 2025 race, on Sunday 23 November, was the first edition [1]. It started and finished at SPIKE Airdome, a 5.3-hectare venue with three domes in the PIK 2 business district [2], which a race listing places in Kosambi, Tangerang regency, Banten [3]. The organiser, the Indomaret convenience-store chain, ran it with IRace Indonesia as race director [4] and said it wanted something more serious than the fun runs it usually stages [5].
The roads are the selling point. The national runner Agus Prayogo, the race's ambassador, tested the route and described wide roads with very good, flat, smooth asphalt and little change in elevation [2]. The half marathon passed the statues of Sudirman and Soekarno-Hatta, Dragon Point and Tokyo Riverside before a loop of the Greenbelt [2]; the organiser's race-day report also names the Japanese church [4]. The organiser described the course as steril, cleared of traffic, and said it would not disturb public traffic [4][2].
The staggered starts kept the three races apart: the half marathon went at 5am, the 10 km at 5.15am and the 5 km at 5.30am [4]. A runner who travelled from Bekasi, getting up at 3am, said the traffic-free route and pleasant setting pushed runners to go faster [6].
The Weather and the Aid
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, about 10 km south of PIK 2, recorded 25°C at 5am on race morning, with a dew point of 24°C, 94% humidity and a 4-knot wind [7]. It stayed at 25°C to 26°C and 94% humidity until 7am, then warmed: 27°C at 7.30am, 29°C at 8.30am and 29°C, with 75% humidity, at 9am, when the half marathon closed [7].
A dew point of 24°C is heavy air for running: sweat barely evaporates, so the flat course flatters less than it looks. A two-hour half marathoner finished at 7am in 26°C and 94% humidity; a runner using the full four hours finished at 29°C [7].
The organiser said water stations were placed at strategic points with mineral water, isotonic drinks and medical staff, and that volunteers, marshals and security staff were spread along the route [4]. For 2026 it says it has added water stations so there is one every 2 km, improved the medical service and brought in a black-flag safety system for extreme weather, and that these changes came from its review of 2025 and from runners' feedback [1].
Cut-offs, Fields and Race Packs
The time limits were generous: four hours for the half marathon, two hours for the 10 km and 90 minutes for the 5 km, according to a race listing [3]. Four hours for 21 km is about 11 minutes 20 seconds per km.
Places were capped at 3,000 in the 5 km, 1,500 in the 10 km and 1,000 in the half, and the 5 km filled fastest [4]. The organiser's pre-race target was 5,500 runners [2], but its post-race video post reported 7,500 runners across the three races [8]. The half is the smallest race either way. The 5 km was family-friendly, and some runners pushed strollers [4].
Every runner got a jersey made with the local brand Tiento, a soft flask, running socks, a cap and a sports bag of household products [4], plus a running belt; finishers got a medal and half-marathon finishers a finisher jersey [3]. Total prize money was Rp300 million [4].
Entry and Race Weekend Logistics
Entry works like a shop purchase. Registration opened on 3 October 2025 at Indomaret stores: you bought the ticket at the till and showed your Poinku membership [4]. It cost Rp400,000 for the 5 km, Rp500,000 for the 10 km and Rp600,000 for the half [4], with Rp100,000 off for Poinku app users who bought at least Rp50,000 of goods including sponsor products [3]. For 2026 the listed prices are Rp500,000, Rp600,000 and Rp700,000, or Rp400,000, Rp500,000 and Rp600,000 for Poinku members [9], and the organiser says stores accept cash [1].
Race packs were collected at Menara Indomaret in PIK 2 on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 November, 10am to 8pm [10]. On race day, queues had formed at the race village by 4.30am [4]. PIK 2 has large car parks at SPIKE Airdome, Community Park and NICE that together hold more than 9,000 vehicles [2]. For 2026 the organiser has added 50 Bluebird shuttle cars and a Citytrans travel promotion to the venue [1].
Should You Enter the 2026 Race?
Yes, if you want a flat, traffic-free half marathon or 10 km at PIK 2 with a generous limit, and you can manage entry through an Indomaret shop. The four-hour half-marathon limit suits newer runners, and the capped half keeps that race small.
Think twice if you are chasing a fast time in cool air: the 5am start was already at 25°C and 94% humidity. It is also a young event with one edition behind it. After the 2025 race the organiser promised a new route [6], and it says the 2026 route has been refined [1], so the course described here may change.
The 2026 race is on Sunday 22 November, again at PIK 2, and the organiser is aiming for 10,000 runners, with a finisher medal and jacket for the half [1]. Check the 2026 route and the water-station positions in the race guide before race day.
