The Course: Out-and-Backs on BSD City's Boulevards
The half marathon starts and finishes on Jl. BSD Boulevard Utara, where it meets Jl. BSD Utama, beside Astra Biz Center [1]. It loops north along Jl. Lkr. Botanika Selatan and Jl. Lkr. Botanika Utara to Jl. Bumi Botanika at about 4 km, then turns south down Jl. BSD Raya Pusat to Jl. BSD Grand Boulevard, where it turns back between 8 and 9 km [1].
The second half has a long out-and-back west along Jl. BSD Boulevard Utara, with the turn at 13 km, before returning north on Jl. BSD Raya Pusat, east along Jl. Bumi Botanika at 16 to 17 km, back down Jl. Lkr. Botanika Utara at 18 km and home through Jl. Majorie Ave at 20 km [1]. Several roads, including Jl. BSD Raya Pusat and Jl. Lkr. Botanika Utara, are run twice [1].
The official map has no elevation profile [1]. One half-marathon runner described the route as relatively flat [2]. The organiser's route file is labelled as a PASI-measured revision dated 2 October 2025 [3], and for 2026 the routes for all three distances have been certified by the national athletics federation, PB PASI [4].
The Weather: Humid at the Start, 30°C by 8.30am
Soekarno-Hatta airport, about 18 km north of the start, recorded 26°C at 5am on race morning, with a dew point of 24°C, 89% humidity and a 6-knot wind [5]. It held at 26°C until 6am, then climbed: 28°C at 7am, 29°C at 7.30am and 30°C, with 66% humidity, at 8.30am [5].
A dew point of 24°C means sweat evaporates slowly, so expect to run slower than on a cool morning. Even so, the reports from the day were positive: detik described the weather as friendly from the 5am start [6], the men's winner, Agus Prayogo, called it good [6], and one runner wrote that it was comfortable [2].
The race started at 5am [6]. If the half marathon set off then, its 3.5-hour cut-off fell at 8.30am, so a runner near the limit finished in 30°C air [5].
Aid Stations, Cooling and Medical Cover
The organiser listed eight hydration points, two fruit stations, two sponging stations, nine cheering areas, seven mobile medics and twelve ambulances on the route and at the race centre [7]. The official map shows the eight water stations spread around the course, with the fruit and sponge stations on Jl. BSD Raya Pusat near 11 km and on Jl. Lkr. Botanika Utara near 18 km [1]. detik reported water every two kilometres [6]; the organiser's 2026 FAQ gives the spacing as every 2.5 km, with an ambulance every 5 km [8].
One runner singled out the fruit and cold sponge stations and called the water stations complete [2]. Every entrant was insured through Astra Life: up to Rp2.5 million of hospital costs for sports injuries, including muscle injuries, dehydration and heat stroke, and Rp25 million of life cover [7]. Halodoc also offered participants a health screening before the race [7].
Cut-offs, Roads and Marshals
The cut-offs were 3.5 hours for the half marathon, 2 hours for the 10 km and 1 hour for the 5 km in the 2024 rules [9], and they are the same in the 2026 FAQ [8]. Finishing inside the limit mattered in 2025: only runners who met the cut-off were eligible for the prize draw, worth Rp200 million in total and including a Honda ICON e electric scooter [7].
Agus Prayogo called the route steril (sterile) and said 2025 was the third year of taking part [10]. A runner wrote that marshalling was strict and traffic was not a problem [2]. For 2026 the organiser says it is preparing traffic management for the race, and runners must stay on the official route and pass every checkpoint or risk disqualification [4][8].
How Fast the Field Is
Agus Prayogo, a national athlete and the race's brand ambassador, won the men's half marathon [10] in 1:18:19 [11]. Further down the field, one runner who had aimed for 1:40 finished in 1:38 [12].
Prize money is paid three deep in four separate categories: men and women, each split into Astra employees and the public. In 2025 the half marathon paid Rp10 million, Rp8 million and Rp6 million; the 10 km Rp7 million, Rp6 million and Rp4 million; and the 5 km Rp4 million, Rp3 million and Rp2 million [13]. Winners are decided on gun time [8].
Race Weekend Logistics
Race packs were not collected in BSD. In 2025 collection was on Friday and Saturday, 28 and 29 November, from 10am to 7pm at Catur Dharma Hall on the fifth floor of Menara Astra on Jl. Jenderal Sudirman in central Jakarta, and you needed your confirmation email and ID [13]. For 2026 the organiser says there is no race-day collection and no delivery [8].
The event ran from 4am to noon [13], and the start area was already filling at 4am [10]. For 2026 runner parking is at QBig Mall [8]. Entry cost Rp600,000 for the half marathon, Rp450,000 for the 10 km and Rp395,000 for the 5 km in 2025 [13]; the 2026 fees are Rp650,000, Rp500,000 and Rp400,000 [8]. Every finisher got a medal and an e-certificate, and half-marathon finishers also got a finisher jacket [13].
Entry is limited to Indonesian citizens: the 2024 rules said so [9], and the 2026 FAQ opens every distance only to Indonesian citizens aged 13 to 70 [8]. Entries cannot be refunded or transferred [8].
Should You Enter the 2026 Race?
Yes, if you are an Indonesian runner looking for a well-supported half marathon near Jakarta, especially a first one: the 3.5-hour limit is generous, the aid and medical cover are thorough, and official pacers are planned for sub-2:00, sub-2:30 and sub-3:00 [8].
Think twice if you are not an Indonesian citizen, because you cannot enter, or if a trip into central Jakarta to collect your pack is a problem. If you want a fast time, remember that the dew point was already 24°C at the 2025 start.
The 2026 race is on Sunday 29 November at Astra Biz Center [8]. Flag-off times for each distance will be published in the race guide [8], and the half-marathon route file on the 2026 page is still the 2025 revision [14][3], so check the final route when the guide appears.
