The Course: Sudirman to Bundaran HI and Back
Both races started and finished on Jalan Apec beside Plaza Parkir Timur at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) [1]. The 10K is simple: out through Pintu 7 onto Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, up to Bundaran HI at about 4 km on the map, then back down Sudirman to Bundaran Senayan and back to GBK [1].
The half marathon starts the same way, up Sudirman to Bundaran HI and back [1]. It then turns into Jalan Senopati and Jalan Pattimura, through the Pattimura underpass and along Iskandarsyah Raya, Sultan Hasanuddin and Prapanca Raya to a U-turn at Brawijaya, the southern end of the course at about 13 km on the map [1]. It comes back the same way to Bundaran Senayan, runs an out-and-back along Jalan Sisingamangaraja to a U-turn at Asean, and returns up Sudirman to the finish [1].
Check the race book rather than the website for the route. The route text on the race-info page is an older version, with a U-turn before Bundaran HI and no Prapanca section [2]; the race book, updated on 3 September, has the route above [1].
The Weather: 25°C at the Start, 31°C by the Cut-off
Jakarta's Halim airport, about 11 km east-south-east of GBK, recorded 25°C at the 5am start, with a dew point of 20°C, 74% humidity and a 3-knot wind [3]. At 5.30am it was 24°C and calm. It then warmed quickly: 26°C at 7am, 29°C at 8am and 31°C at 9am, when the half marathon closed, with humidity falling to 46% [3].
A dew point of 20°C is sticky, but sweat still evaporates far better than on the 24°C to 25°C mornings common at tropical races. The heat is the problem, not the humidity. A 10K runner finishing by 6.30am ran in about 24°C to 26°C; a half marathoner still out after 8am ran the last kilometres at 29°C to 31°C. The race director said water stations were set every 2 km instead of every 5 km because Jakarta is hot [4].
Aid Stations and Cut-offs
On the half-marathon map there is a water station every 2 km, from 2 km to 20 km, with a fruit station at 10 km, a sponge station at 13 km, a gel station near 14 km and a shower station at 19 km [1]. The 10K has water at 2, 4, 6 and 8 km [1]. The organiser promised 10 water stations and fruit stations, medics every 2 km, eight ambulances with defibrillators and a marshal every 100 m, especially at junctions [5]. Along with water, the stations handed out sponsors' snacks, from nuggets and sweets to cheese, bagels, fried chicken and orange juice [6].
The half marathon has a four-hour limit, with the last finish at 9am, and one intermediate cut-off: 15.8 km within 3:02:01, at 8.12am [1]. The 10K has a two-hour limit, with the last finish at 7.20am [1]. Finishers outside the limit do not get a medal [1]. In 2026, 104 runners in the 10K, 44 men and 60 women, are listed as over the limit, with gun times beyond two hours [7]. Every half-marathon finisher in the results came in under four hours; the slowest took 3:59:47 [7].
On the Day: Organisation
The gates opened at 4am, with a safety briefing at 4.40am [1]. The half-marathon start pen closed at 5.10am and the 10K pen at 5.40am [1], and anyone starting before the flag-off is disqualified [8]. The results list 29 disqualifications in the 10K and four in the half [7]; no reason is given.
A post-race write-up on Presscorner said race-pack collection was orderly, race information was clear and the flag-offs were on time, with marshals and medics spread along the route [9]. The organiser also arranged for local women to cheer along the course, a nod to the women-run village businesses that Amartha lends to [10].
How Fast the Field Is
The half marathon was won by Rikki Marthin Luther Simbolon in 1:11:32, four seconds ahead of Nofeldi Petingko and Sedilta Pilon Nubatonis, both given 1:11:36 [7]; Nubatonis, a marine, was credited with third [11]. Isania Tarigan won the women's race in 1:26:29, from Anjellika Br Ginting in 1:28:19 and Eva Desiana in 1:29:59 [7]. These are gun times; the winner's net time was 1:11:27 [7].
Tenth place, counting all ages, was 1:21:46 for men and 1:48:28 for women, and the median half marathoner took 2:28:17 (men) and 2:53:01 (women) [7]. In the 10K, Anggiat Sihombing won in 32:47 and Binta Erlen Salsabela in 40:30; tenth places were 43:42 and 49:50, and the medians 1:20:06 and 1:32:01 [7].
Prizes go three deep in open (National) and Master categories. The half pays Rp14 million, Rp10 million and Rp6 million, and Rp8 million to the Master winners; the 10K pays Rp7 million, Rp5 million and Rp3 million, and Rp4 million to the Master winners [2]. The total prize fund was Rp200 million [12]. Five Master women finished in the women's 10K top ten, and tenth place was 49:50 [7], so a Master podium is within reach of a good club runner.
Race Weekend Logistics
Race packs were collected on 4 and 5 September, 10am to 8pm, at Lippo Mall Nusantara on Jalan Sudirman [1]. Collection is compulsory: if nobody collects your pack, you lose your place [1]. A representative can collect for up to five runners with a signed letter of authorisation [1]. The pack had a jersey, string bag, bib and insurance, plus a finisher jersey for half marathoners [12].
On race morning a free Bluebird shuttle ran from 4am, from Amartha Village via Liberta Hotel Kemang and Liberta Hub Blok M to GBK Arena, and Bluebird offered 20% off rides with a promo code [1]. Bag drop opened at 4am and closed at 9am; bags not collected by 11am are the runner's own risk [1]. Children, strollers and pets are not allowed in the race [1].
After the finish, the village-themed race village had games, free fruit, vegetables and betta fish, and a market of the small businesses Amartha lends to [6]. Medal engraving was free [9]. The minister for youth and sports, Erick Thohir, attended in 2026 [6].
Normal-price entry was Rp650,000 for the half and Rp450,000 for the 10K [2]; the early-bird price ran from 15 to 21 May 2026 [8]. Entries cannot be refunded [1] or transferred [8], and the minimum age is 17 [8].
Should You Enter the 2027 Race?
Yes, if you want a 10K or half marathon through central Jakarta with dense aid, a 5am start and a finish area that is more festival than finish pen. The 10K suits newer runners who can finish inside two hours.
Think twice if you are a slower half marathoner: the 15.8 km cut-off at 8.12am and the heat after 8am are the real test. If you expect to be close to three hours for the half, practise in the heat and check the cut-off point in the race book.
