The Course: From the F1 Pit Building
All three races start on the F1 track beside the Pit Building in Marina Bay, within walking distance of the Singapore Flyer, Marina Square and Suntec City [1]. Republic Boulevard towards Raffles Avenue is fully closed from 2.30am to 9.30am [1].
The 21.1 km flags off at 4.15am, so most of the half marathon is run in the dark [1]. The organiser said it prioritised route accuracy in 2026 so that runners ran the advertised distance, with clear course guidance [2].
The Weather: Sticky Before Dawn, Hazy After
Changi Airport, on the east coast, recorded 26°C to 27°C through the night before the race, with a dew point of 25°C, humidity of 89% to 94% and a 2- to 3-knot breeze [3]. Mist was reported at 7am and haze at 8am, when it was 27°C with 94% humidity; by 9am it was 30°C [3].
That is standard Singapore race weather: the temperature is not extreme, but with a 25°C dew point sweat barely evaporates. Half marathoners finishing after about 7.30am ran their last kilometres in rising heat. Slow your early pace, use every drinks station and take the cooling towels.
Aid, Cooling and Cut-offs
The organiser added hydration stations along the route in 2026, with Pocari Sweat and JÄÄDE Water, put banana stations on the 21.1 km, and handed out cooling towels at key points and in an athlete welfare area after the finish [2]. It did not publish how many stations there were or where.
The cut-offs are generous for a city race: four hours for the 21.1 km, two and a half hours for the 10 km and an hour and a half for the 5 km. Runners behind the checkpoint timings may be sent onto footpaths or an alternative route, because roads reopen on schedule [4].
Race Pack Collection and the Race Village
The organiser redesigned race-pack collection for 2026 to improve crowd flow and cut waiting times. Many runners described it as queue-free [2]. The race village was upgraded with photo spots and finish-line backdrops [2].
On race day the information counter, pack collection and baggage deposit open at 2.30am, and half marathoners check in from 2.30am [1]. Take the MRT to Promenade (Circle Line) and walk five minutes from Exit A, or use the event shuttle buses from selected stops near MRT stations; the Pit Building coach park is closed [1]. Ride-hailing drop-off is at the Singapore Flyer on Raffles Avenue [1].
How Fast the Field Is
Winning times for 2026 were not published in any report we found. Prizes go to the top four in each distance by gun time, with 2XU vouchers worth $1,000, $800, $500 and $300 for the 21.1 km [1]. With more than 20,000 runners, most of them in the 10 km and 5 km, the half marathon is a mass-participation race rather than an elite one.
Should You Enter the 2027 Race?
Yes, if you want a big, well-run city half marathon in Singapore with a four-hour cut-off and better on-course cooling than most local races. It suits runners stepping up to their first half marathon.
Think twice if you are chasing a personal best: the field is large, the start is at 4.15am and the air is saturated.
The 2027 race is on Sunday 21 March from the F1 Pit Building [1]. Nobody from this site ran the race. This review draws on the organiser's race information, a post-race report and airport weather records.
