Most Penang club runs are on weekday evenings from about 8:30pm, on the island's waterfronts at Tanjung Tokong, Q1 and Gurney Bay. Some crews also meet early on Saturday mornings. The island's hash chapters run trails in the late afternoon, from 5pm to 5:30pm. The scene is busy: a state-hosted dialogue in May 2026 drew more than 20 running clubs, and many train for the Penang Bridge International Marathon on 13 December 2026, which starts at 1:30am to avoid the heat.
